In a unexpected crossover event that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Disclosed

According to the authorized statement, "A strange encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying transformations reverberate through the darkness." The plot presents a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.

The mission focuses on "strange tests and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Transformations

The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Additional Content

Players who finish the adventure will obtain an special katana together with numerous objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-based costume for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps vehicle

Third Free Story Addition

This release also introduces the game's third free story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature abilities: Naoe debuts a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
