Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure follow below.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.

This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.

What Defines the Combat Party

According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem out of place, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the party understands precisely where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.

The antagonist then settled his debts and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
  • The adventurer knows the region and cautions that it is a hostile place.
  • The strong character and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the team access locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • The target is marked for death by the clan.

This leaves them no alternative but to head to Timmony in search of Casimir.

What’s Next?
