Two Detentions Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
